About HHS Auxiliary

The Heritage Humane Society Auxiliary (HHSA) has been a vital part of the Heritage Humane Society (HHS) for over 20 years. As a standing committee of the HHS, we continually seek to develop and present numerous and varied fundraising events to support the shelter while creating community awareness and education about all HHS services.

Our members willingly donate their time, energy and other resources in response to the needs of HHS and its commitment to humane care and professional treatment for all injured, ill, stray or unwanted animals. We offer a social structure where members work together on fundraising projects, network and have fun through events and informal gatherings.

HHSA members meet at the Williamsburg Library at 10:15 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month. We welcome anyone interested in learning more about HHSA to attend our monthly meeting or, for more information, please call (757) 221-0150 or email auxiliary@heritagehumanesociety.org. We sponsor numerous fundraising events every year raising more than $100,000 with all proceeds helping fund operating expenses of the HHS Shelter caring for homeless pets.

Join the Heritage Humane Society Auxiliary. We meet at the Williamsburg Library at 10 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month. The public is encouraged to attend. For information, please call 757-221-0150.

   Ongoing Programs

Precious Pieces

The fear and anxiety that comes with being abused, lost and abandoned can be overwhelming for our Shelter animals. Although they are treated with great care by both the Heritage Humane Society staff and its dedicated volunteers, adjusting to new surroundings takes time. Wanting to help make the transition more calming to all the shelter animals Precious Pieces has started a group of knitters and crocheters who are making small blankets given as gifts to each adopted animal so that they can cozy and feel safe. Email Precious Pieces to volunteer.

Make Par for Pets Golf Classic

The Heritage Humane Society Auxiliary is proud to host the Make Par for Pets Golf Classic, which is one of the biggest fundraising events for the shelter each year. Want to learn more about Make Par for Pets? Click here.

Antique Mall Booth

A booth at the Williamsburg Antique Mall was offered to us without charge in return for our members donating time on Fridays to help out at the front desk. This group collects donations, prices them and sets up displays in the booth. Help is needed particularly with the front desk work. If you have items to donate, please contact our Director at 757-221-0910.
