PRECIOUS PIECES
The fear and anxiety that comes with being abused, lost and abandoned can be overwhelming for our Shelter animals. Although they are treated with great caring by both the Heritage Humane Society staff and its dedicated volunteers getting used to new surroundings takes time. Wanting to help make the transition more calming to all the Shelter animals Precious Pieces has started a group of knitters and crocheters who are making small blankets to be given to all the Shelter’s animals so that they can cozy and cuddle up as they lie in their cages thereby making them feel safe. Given the number of animals housed at the Shelter at any given time you can well imagine we need more folks knitting or crocheting small blankets so that our goal of “a blanket for every animal” is realized. Towards that end, we need your help. Please email Lillian Campbell at PugLove@cox.net to volunteer and she will tell you how easy it is to make a blanket. Each blanket will make an animal happy; it will bring peace and love to those of us who made a blanket. Hope to hear from you soon. |

Trained volunteers are the heart of the HHS. We greatly appreciate your time and effort to help us to offer a safe, loving environment for each of our animals waiting for their new home. Thank you for believing in what we do and for your part in making it possible.
